LOCAL ART, ECOLOGY, AND MORE

June 08, 2020

In high summer, every tropical vacationer needs a little break from the sun. Luckily, Islamorada has much to offer in the way of activities that beat the heat.

Every third Thursday in July, you can head to the Morada Way Arts & Cultural District in downtown Islamorada for the monthly art walk. Local artists, food vendors, and musicians will congregate to make the main street come alive all evening.

Any day of the week, you can head to the Florida Keys History & Discovery center right here in Islamorada. This is a world-class museum featuring interactive exhibits that delve into local history. The facilities include aquariums, information on the invasive lionfish, a 35-seat movie theater, and research library.

If you just want to relax and cool down, you can always head to Islamorada Brewery & Distillery or the Florida Keys Brewing Company for a tour and a tasty local brew.
